A short bit-crushed horror game about a missing friend, Familiarity was made for the UCSC Alumni Trick or Treat Jam. Similar to A Late Night Stroll, the emphasis here was on the story, visuals, and vibe, more than the gameplay.
I wanted to give nearly every visual to have this off-kilter jitter effect, including the rain, background, grass, and text. And I wanted a minimal, dark color scheme throughout the project. I'm happy with how it came out!
Not to spoil too much, but the game's title is a reference to the supernatural animal companions of folklore. Freaky stuff.
